It is dry here, but not nearly the severity I have been hearing about there.Peggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09270165369768480827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1609766496946098544.post-32253111340022106612011-09-06T21:13:18.696-05:002011-09-06T21:13:18.696-05:00Hi, from East Texas! I have to agree with you about the hummers-I love siting on the back porch in the afternoons after I get in from work and just watch them fighting over 3 feeders-hubby says we had a total of 8 one day last week!YeagerFarmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05422556351716841496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1609766496946098544.post-33732745329815578602011-09-02T11:32:17.050-05:002011-09-02T11:32:17.050-05:00Holley, that is a something that I hadn't thou...Holley, that is a something that I hadn't thought of before, but you are right! :)Peggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09270165369768480827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1609766496946098544.post-80366670803491413382011-09-02T11:30:03.844-05:002011-09-02T11:30:03.844-05:00They are so territorial! I think if these birds weren't so small, no one would like them!HolleyGardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14892421871044249940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1609766496946098544.post-16625053556851562122011-09-02T11:20:26.038-05:002011-09-02T11:20:26.038-05:00Thanks, Charlie...I started following yours as wel...Thanks, Charlie...I started following yours as well. :)Peggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09270165369768480827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1609766496946098544.post-40294759549325575812011-09-02T10:51:49.715-05:002011-09-02T10:51:49.715-05:00Hummingbirds are such fun to watch! We have a feeder on our front porch, and in the beginning of the summer, they fly away and won’t stop if you’re sitting there. By mid summer, they're defending their feeder and aren’t shy anymore. On more than one occasion, they’ve flown up and hovered right in front of me and even my dog... just looking - it’s as if they were curious or something. Funny!

I make my sugar-water food the same way, and also use it in the oriole feeder. Like your blog, btw – I found it and have started following. : )charlie b.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02458917197033510732noreply@blogger.com
